Iceland, volcanoes, no planes & the world without us

When I am stranded at an airport, I usually plow happily through a paperback novel.  Writer Alain de Botton makes good use of his time as a volcano-ash refugee at Heathrow airport by imagining  a world without planes.

For further thoughts on the same theme, check out Alan Weisman’s excellent 2007 book The World Without Us.
